Sunday’s Schedule for Cliburn Semifinals

Here is Sunday’s schedule of semifinal performances in the 13th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. All sessions are in Bass Performance Hall, Fourth and Commerce in downtown Fort Worth. Here is Sunday’s schedule of semifinal performances in the 13th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. All sessions are in Bass Performance Hall, Fourth and Commerce in downtown Fort Worth.

Matinee Session

1:30 pm.: Nobuyuki Tsujii of Japan will play Beethoven’s Hammerklavier Sonata and Musto’s Improvisation & Fugue.

2:45 p.m.: Haochen Zhang of China and the Takács Quartet will play Schumann’s Piano Quintet in E-flat major.

3:40 p.m.: Michail Lifits of Germany will play Liszt’s Sonata in B minor, Hagen’s Suite for Piano and Prokofiev’s Sonata No. 7 in B-flat major.

Evening Session

7:30 p.m.: Kyu Yeon Kim of South Korea and the Takács Quartet will play Brahms’ Piano Quintet in F minor.

8:25 p.m.: Alessandro Deljavan of Italy will play Schubert’s Sonata in D, D. 850, Bates’ White Lies for Lomax and Scriabin’s Sonata No. 5, Opus 53.

9:40 p.m.: Yeol Eum Son and the Takács Quartet will play Brahms’ Piano Quintet in F minor.

Selection of Finalists

After the final quintet performance, the judges will meet to choose six finalists. The announcement of their decision is expected about 11 p.m. in Bass Hall.
