A PRESIDENT COMES TO TOWN: With all of its stage and big-screen accolades, Frost/Nixon might be the most highly anticipated show of this year’s Dallas Summer Musicals season. Frank Langella won a Tony and was nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of the disgraced president – big shoes to fill for his traveling replacement, Stacy Keach. So how did he do? Just fine, according to Lawson Taitte. Writing on GuideLive.com, Taitte says, “If there’s any actor on the American stage with more stature, more sheer talent, than Langella, it’s Stacy Keach. … He commands the stage as only a couple of American actors of his generation do.” If you’re planning on seeing the show, be sure to listen to Keach’s appearance on Think earlier this week and watch Theater Jones’ video interview with him.

BUCKLEY AWARD NOMINEES ANNOUNCED: On Wednesday, Casa Manana announced the nominees for this year’s Betty Lynn Buckley Awards. The awards honor the best high school musical theater productions from Tarrant County. Up for the top award are: The Boyfriend (Birdville High School), Urinetown (Central High School), Anything Goes (Colleyville Heritage High School), The Sound of Music (Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts), Back to the Eighties (Fort Worth Country Day School) and Kiss Me Kate (Trinity Valley School).  You can view the complete list of nominees here.
