ON TO THE MUSIC: We at Art&Seek covered the film and interactive pieces of SXSW this year, and honestly, we’re tapped out. But don’t despair – several of our local media pals are down in Austin to bring you blow-by-blow coverage of the music side of things. Mario Tarradell from guidelive.com checked in on the Austin Music Awards last night. Preston Jones is showing a sprinter’s form in racing from show to show on dfw.com’s music blog. DC9 At Night says that it will have a gang of four covering the music, but I wasn’t able to find anything from them as of Thursday morning. And Hunter Hauk over at quickdfw.com has maybe my favorite SXSW feature – a daily playlist. Kinda cool to have a soundtrack of the bands playing down there while you’re reading about their sets.

BACK TO BACK, BACK, BACK: The review is in for the Dallas Theater Center‘s second-to-last show at its current space. Lawson Taitte in The Dallas Morning News writes, “You don’t have to be a baseball fan to enjoy Back Back Back. It might even help turn you into one … and a theater fan, as well.” For further reading about the show, check out Theater Jones’ interview with playwright Itamar Moses, who says he tweaked the show quite a bit following its New York and San Diego stops.

A PLUM SPOT FOR ORNETTE COLEMAN: Saxophone legend Ornette Coleman will open the 2009-10 Jazz at Lincoln Center series on Sept. 26. Howard Mandel over on the Jazz Beyond Jazz blog is ecstatic that the Fort Worth-raised Coleman finds a place in the typically conservative concert series.
