Robert Towne, who won an Oscar for penning the Chinatown screenplay, will be honored with the AFI Dallas Star Award this year, the festival announced Monday. (Sorry for the tardiness on this – you can blame President’s Day.) Previous honorees include Charlize Theron, Helen Hunt and Mickey Rooney.
