Parliament, oil over tempura, by Sallie McIllheran

Interested in heading out of town to see some art? You can do a lot worse than a road trip to Marfa. And starting Friday, you’ll be able to catch a show from one of Fort Worth’s own.

Painter Sallie McIllheran and her photographer husband, Johannes Wunner, will show their work at the International Women’s Foundation in the West Texas town. The exhibit runs through Feb. 14.

McIllheran, who is represented locally by Norwood Flynn Gallery, has built a following mostly in Europe. After graduating from Trinity Valley School in Fort Worth, she earned an MFA from the University of Vienna. She now lives in Freising, Germany with her husband (that’s his photo below).
