Guest blogger Sarah Jane Semrad is Executive Director of La Reunion TX.

Make Space for Artists : Design a Studio continues at the Dallas Museum of Art.  As we move into the final stretch, La Reunion TX is pleased to announce prize money!  Design a studio using one of the free laptops in the Tech Lab with Google Sketch Up or draw out by hand and win $500 for first prize, $250 for second or $100 for third prize. The program closes February 12, 2009.  Get thee to the DMA!

In addition, be sure to visit us at the Dallas Museum of Art on Thursday, January 29 at 7:00pm in the Center for Creative Connections Theatre as we present another panel discussion in association with the Make Space for Artists program.  We’ll consider the work of artists and the relationship of this work to the design of studios. Mark Gunderson, AIA, will moderate this panel discussion featuring Kevin W. Tucker, The Margot B. Perot Curator of Decorative Arts and Design, Jessica Stewart Lendvay, President of La Reunion TX and Ron Wommack, FAIA, Architect.

Last, if you’re an artist in North Texas don’t be shy – submit photos of YOUR studio to the KERA Online Artist Studio Tour. Great coverage for your portfolio and to generate interest in your work.
