Tonybones’ used to spraypaint his lanky stick figures on overpasses and buildings around Dallas. Now they’re showing up on gallery walls, on prints and in neon. Tonybones exhibition opens Saturday at the Public Trust. In this edition of Think, taped on Aug. 1, the artist talks to Krys Boyd about how his work is evolving and the difference between painting on the streets and in the studio.

For more: Dallas artist Brad Ford Smith got a sneak peak of Tonybones’ show and he’s writing about it on the Art&Seek blog.

Great interview! Of course Krys could get an interesting response from a freshly road-killed moose. This got me interested in Tonybones’ work and I attended the opening at the Public Trust and bought a piece.

What comes across here is how glaringly intelligent he is…which makes his work far more interesting than if he was a rustic rebel. He’s just very true to himself and it comes across and I feel good about his prospects for a real career in art.
