Applause greeted the ribbon-cutting for Bookmarks, a 2,000-square foot library on level one of NorthPark. Nancy Nasher, NorthPark owner and manager, says it’s unique, the first children’s library in a shopping center: “I am confident that Bookmarks will become one of the most popular destinations at NorthPark. Thousands of children will be inspired to read and learn here for many years to come.”

There will be learning stations for toddlers, homework help for elementary and middle schoolers, computers plus wireless internet connection. The NorthPark library will operate five hours, six days a week, closed on Tuesdays.

Oh, I can’t wait to get my son out there! Perhaps he’ll look more favorably on my browsing the shops if he gets to have his fun at Bookmarks.

What an excellent idea! I love how North Park keeps reinventing itself! It is my favorite shopping mall!
