Although the 13th International Theater Festival doesn’t begin until February 1, I think it’s worth mentioning what some of the highlights will be.  One of the troupes will be from Venezuela, the Teatro Profesional de Lara, which will perform The Open Couple –Very Open by the provocative Italian playwright Dario Fo.

Another staging will be by the Nigerian Jos Repertory Theatre, which will perform Wole Soyinka’s Death and The King’s Horseman.

Given the state of international affairs, having global theater companies performing in our area will provide audiences with interesting world views.

For more information on other companies, performances and tickets, you can visit the Teatro Dallas website. The International Theater Festival is presented by Teatro Dallas and the South Dallas Cultural Center in collaboration with the Latino Cultural Center, the Bath House Cultural Center and Kitchen Dog Theater.
